The Stringbound Maroon Device is sold as an inert container, intended for use in movies, special effects, and various applications. When initiated, it produces a loud audible effect, orange flame, and smoke.

IWA International offers this device in an inert form to customers who wish to assemble it by adding a black powder charge and installing a non-ATF-regulated electric igniter. The device is sold as a casing with a pre-installed, non-ATF-regulated electric igniter, and a sealant compound. Customers can complete the assembly by adding black powder and sealing the device. No “professional use only” restrictions apply when sold in this form.

Customers have the option to use igniters obtained independently or purchase non-ATF-regulated igniters from IWA. These igniters provided by IWA are not regulated by ATF and do not carry the restriction “for professional use only.”

Please note that as sold, this device does not constitute a “kit and/or component” salute device, as no black powder is provided.

Once assembled and containing the black powder charge (if stored, ATF regulations will apply), it is recommended to use the device at the site of assembly in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
